These characters designs are for a hitherto unnamed game I was part of the planning process for. It’s supposed to be a “cozy farm game” with the characters being bipedal animals. I made this suggestion for character designs:

The others liked the designs, but wanted a few changes, and a few more animals. Among other things, they asked if the animals should have some sort of clothes, and so we agreed that each animal should have one article of clothing.

The dog got a green bandanna.

The cat got a red bandanna.

The rabbit got a hat, because I liked the look of the rabbit ears on the hat.

The pig got a necktie because… I thought it was funny that the pig got the most “formal” piece of clothing.

It took some time before I found something that would fit the chicken… but in the end I decided that boots would work.

The sheep got a scarf. Because scarves are made of wool, get it?

And finally, the fox. The fox was one of the original designs (the project leader had seen my Mikkel the Fox comic and wanted me to include a fox), but at this stage I thought: The fox is the only animal here that doesn’t actually belong on a farm. The dog, the cat, the pig, the chicken, even the rabbit… sure, you could see those on farms. But no farmer would be happy to see a fox on their farm.
As such, I thought, the fox had to wear a disguise. So I gave him a Ninja Turtles type eyemask, because that way nobody can tell he’s a fox. Brilliant, huh?
I suggested for the lore of the game that the farm animals could be kind of like a family, and the fox is the “shady cousin” who sometimes comes to dinner. Nobody knows exactly where he is most of the time, or what he gets up to when he’s not on the farm, but it’s probably something illegal.
…let’s face it, the fox is probably the big scene-stealer.
I haven’t been involved in the rest of the develompent of the game, but I thought I’d share those intial designs here.
