The demo level of Raskeladden & Dovreslubben was presented today, after a three month production time. (Five months if we include the pre-production stage, including script and storyboard.) If you’re curious, the demo’s available online here, including a full credits list for everyone who’s worked on the project. (It’s in Norwegian, but even non-Norwegian players shouldn’t have too much trouble getting what’s going on… it’s not a text-heavy game.)

I did the animation for the main character; very basic running and jumping. (There should have been animations for him ducking and crashing into tings as well, but that’ll have to wait until a later version of the game.)

It’s been a while since I had the opportunity to do some animation, and Clip Studio Paint has a fairly decent animation tool. Well… it’s not the most intuitive, but when you get the hang it it. it works well. You can export the animation as still frames or even as a “sprite sheet,” which made it easy enough for the coders to import the animation into the game.

Finally, here is the art for the promotional poster I made, featuring the character Raskeladden and the background I drew for the game’s intro screen.

And finally, what it looked like on the wall!
